F1 GLAMOUR ROX INTO GLASGOW AS DAVID COULTHARD LAUNCHES NEW TW STEEL SPECIAL EDITION

Friday, August 12th, 2011

David Coulthard was in Glasgow last night to officially launch the TW Steel David Coulthard Special Edition watch at our store in the Argyll Arcade.

We were selected as the prestigious venue for the exclusive official UK launch of TW Steel’s new range and hosted a  glamorous event for fashion and media movers and shakers to unveil the new collection.

Our stylish dual level store was given an F1 makeover for the event and guests were given the rare chance to see, and have pictures taken, with the F1 Lotus show car that had been located infront of our store. Inside guests enjoyed the F1 simulator that was set up in our thrill room and the F1 batack.

Lee McKenzie interviewed David infront of a packed audience and guests were treated to a Moet reception, Smirnoff Black French Martinis , St Mungo’s beer from the WEST brewery and delicious YoSushi canapés.

The night’s soundtrack came courtesy of Clyde 1’s Adrian Coll while guests included Clyde 1’s Knoxy, the BBC’s Cat Cubie, STV’s Sean Batty and a host of movers and shakers from Glasgow’s fashion and media industry.

The TW Steel David Coulthard Special Edition has been designed to celebrate the stellar career of David Coulthard, who holds 13 Formula One victories having competed for Williams F1, McLaren-Mercedes and Red Bull Racing.

The TW Steel David Coulthard Special Edition watch reflects DC’s passion for detail, while offering a bold, sophisticated look which perfectly captures the luxurious associations that come from his involvement in one of the world’s most glamorous and appealing sports – motor racing.

New face of ROX Nicola Mimnagh unveils 4,500 sq m, £1m flagship boutique

Saturday, November 6th, 2010

Nicola Mimnagh-Miss Scotland 2010

Miss Scotland 2010 Nicola Mimnagh has today, Thursday 18th November 2010, launched Scotland’s biggest jewellery store in Glasgow’s famous Argyll Arcade

Scottish brand ROX has invested a total of £1m in a major expansion that has more than quadrupled the size of its Argyll Arcade flagship boutique. The Argyll Arcade store was the brand’s first boutique when it opened in 2002 and eight years on, it has been given a complete transformation to take it to over 4,500sq m across two luxurious levels including a stylish private shopping area on the upper floor.

On the ground floor, the new-look store encompasses the space of the former ROX boutique and the unit next door, sister company to ROX, Lewis Grant which has moved to another unit in the Argyll Arcade.

ROX acquired 2,500sq ft of additional property above its existing store in the Argyll Arcade in late autumn 2009 which has now been transformed into a glamorous ‘thrill room’ that will provide a private area for customers shopping for diamonds and higher priced items such as its collection of designer brands the store carries which includes Ebel and Rado watches with prices ranging from £800 to £15,000. The lavish space will be used to offer customers the ultimate shopping experience in addition to hosting fashion shows and private events.

Highlights of the ‘thrill room’ include its Moet sponsored ‘diamond bar’ where customers can enjoy a glass of bubbly while perusing the store’s stunning range of diamonds, mirrored walls and ceilings, a dramatic crystal chandelier and an area where projections of classic movies such as Breakfast at Tiffany’s will be shown.

ROX has also announced that Nicola Mimnagh will be taking over from former Miss Scotland Katharine Brown as the new Face of ROX. Nicola will go on to feature in ROX’s heavyweight above the line Christmas marketing campaign which kicks off next week in the lead up to what ROX MD Kyron Keogh is predicting will be the company’s busiest Christmas to date.

Kyron said: “As a brand we are determined to push the boundaries and we have gone all out with the expansion of our Argyll Arcade flagship branch to provide our customers with an unrivalled shopping experience. It is completely unique in the jewellery market and at over 4,500 sq m; we believe we are now the biggest jewellery store in the country.

“We’ve had an exceptionally strong year with projected turnover for year ending 2011 at £9.5m which is up £2m on last year. Our Argyll Arcade boutique is selling more engagement rings than any other store in the Arcade due to the level of customer service we can provide, the quality of our diamonds and the fact that we have a price promise in place whereby we will match an offer if found to be cheaper elsewhere.

“Forecasts are showing that we’re on track for our strongest Christmas to date – it is naturally the busiest time of year for us however we are anticipating an additional boost by customers who are wisely opting to invest in diamonds ahead of the VAT rise in January and our price promise gives us that additional competitive edge.”

The refurbishment was carried out by cutting edge Glasgow based interior designer Graven Images – the company responsible for the spectacular refurbishment of The Blythswood Hotel in Glasgow city centre which was recently named one of the hottest hotels in the world by Conde Nast Traveller. Graven has sourced stylish products from around the world to add that extra special touch to the new store including platinum backed mosaic tiles which feature on pillars in-store and in the window displays.

The new look store, in addition to stocking a glittering range of diamonds, will also carry the latest styles from top designer brands including Stephen Webster, Shaun Leane, Ebel, Techno Marine, Monica Vinader, Emporio Armani, Hugo Boss, Gc ,TW Steel, Breil, DKNY, D&G and Juicy Couture.

Co-owners Kyron Keogh and Grant Mitchell opened their first ROX store in the Argyll Arcade in 2002 – the brand has gone on to become Scotland’s most fashionable jewellery company thanks to its beautiful selection of diamonds and cutting edge designer pieces. ROX now has three stores in Glasgow in the Argyll Arcade, Braehead and Silverburn and last winter opened £1m boutique in Aberdeen’s Union Square which has been consistently up 21% on target.

ROX’s position in the Scottish retail industry was affirmed last month when it picked up ‘Online Retailer of the Year’ at the Scottish Retail Excellence Awards – its second consecutive award win at the prestigious ceremony after it was named ‘Independent Retailer of the Year’ in 2009. The brand has also just been named in leading UK jewellery trade title Professional Jeweller’s ‘Hot 100’ list in the ‘Retail Stars’ category.

ROX Argyll Arcade undergoes major refit

Monday, September 6th, 2010

Top Scottish jewellery brand ROX has announced today that it is investing £650,000 into its store in Glasgow’s famous Argyll Arcade. The ROX boutique will be extended from 800sq ft to almost 4,500 sq ft making it one of the largest jewellery stores in Scotland while creating a completely unique customer experience.

ROX acquired 2,500sq ft of property above its existing store in the Argyll Arcade in late autumn 2009 which will now be transformed into a glamorous ‘Thrill Room’. The lavish space will be used to offer customers the ultimate shopping experience in addition to hosting fashion shows and private events.

Work on the refurbishment will commence on 20th September 2010 and will be carried out by cutting edge Glasgow based interior designer Graven Images – the company responsible for the spectacular refurbishment of The Blythswood Hotel in Glasgow city centre which was recently named one of the hottest hotels in the world by Conde Nast Traveller.

Co-owner, Kyron Keogh, said: “ROX has gone from strength to strength over the past year and we felt the time was right to create a completely unique and visually inspiring flagship store. We opened our first ROX boutique in the Argyll Arcade in 2002 based on the idea that we wanted to create a jewellery store that customers would want to visit time and time again – the cornerstone of this is excellent customer service and a great product range.

“Now we’re taking it that step further – we believe that our boutique will become a destination in Glasgow and anticipate that the ‘Thrill Room’ will become one of the hottest spaces in the city for private functions.”

The ‘Thrill Room’ will include a luxury lounge for private clients, a catwalk and a diamond bar where champagne will be served, making customers feel like VIPs with every visit. The room will have a cutting edge yet classic feel to it and will be daringly different to anything that has been done in a jewellery store before.

Owners Kyron Keogh and Grant Mitchell opened their first ROX store in the Argyll Arcade in 2002 which since gone on to become Scotland’s most fashionable jewellery company thanks to its beautiful selection of diamonds and cutting edge designer pieces. The brand now has three stores in Glasgow in the Argyll Arcade, Braehead and Silverburn and recently opened a £1m boutique in Aberdeen’s Union Square.

ROX’s position in the Scottish fashion industry was affirmed in April 2010 when the nominations for the Scottish Fashion Awards were announced, short listing the brand, the only jeweller to be included, in the category of Fashion Retailer of the Year.
