AUDEMARS PIGUET

ROYAL OAK OFFSHORE CHRONOGRAPH

16th February 2017

It’s a question often asked in many aspects of life but is it true for the luxury watch wearer? Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore Chronograph is a serious watch, not only for the appreciation of the time it takes to make such an intricate timepiece by hand but also for feeling that you the owner possess when it’s on your wrist. After all your everyday watch doesn’t tend to be made by 365 parts and contain 59 jewels containing a Calibre 3126/3840 Manufacture movement with 50-hour power reserve.

Audemars Piguet are renowned for creating some of the finest timepieces in the world, and have been working to these exceptional standards since they first established their base in the Valée de Joux in 1875. Not only is every one of their watch movements created in-house in their Le Brassus facility, but all of their case components manufactured and finished to the same exacting standards.

The Royal Oak Offshore Chronograph is an evolution of the iconic Royal Oak, and has clear traces of Royal Oak DNA – such as the octagonal bezel and black Tapisserie dial, but with some major differences. The case of the offshore is a modern 42mm in diameter, and the Tapisserie texture on the dial has been re-developed to create the Mega Tapisserie – a larger, bolder and very blue pattern.

It’s a true sports watch but there is something in the blue alligator strap that makes this watch an all-rounder. Wear it in the board room so secure that deal you’ve been working on for months, wear it in the badminton court when you’re doing some stress release activity and wear it out for dinner and drinks on a Saturday night with a crisp white shirt. Its serious and its fun. It’s a power watch.

Audemars Piguet are among the greatest watchmakers in the world for a reason, and they have been crafting peerless timepieces for over 140 years. This watch is available to Pre-Order now.

THESE CHIMING MEN

Audemars Piguet’s Supersonnerie has revolutionised the minute repeater complication, says Alex Doak – just as AP’s watchmakers have revolutionised so much of Switzerland’s sacred craft.

FROM LITTLE ACORNS

When the Scottish Open tees off this July, there will be one particular wristwatch lurking in most of the top players’ lockers back at the Gullane clubhouse. Darren Clarke, Lee Westwood, Ian Poulter and Henrik Stenson will have all de-wristed their treasured Audemars Piguet Royal Oaks before taking to the hallowed greens.
