ROX PRESENTS... ROCKETMAN WITH CHOPARD

26th November 2019

ROX celebrated Chopard’s unique partnership with the Elton John Biopic ROCKETMAN last Thursday (21 November 2019) with a touch of rock star magic.  The ROX Boutique in Argyll Arcade, Glasgow, provided the perfect backdrop to showcase the now iconic Chopard pieces that featured throughout in the film.

ROX was joined by Glasgow’s award winning jazz singer Georgia Cécile Smith and comedian Bruce Devlin who compered the evening with his incomparable sense of humour and hosted a Q&A with Chopard UK Sales Manager Charlotte Rhodes-James – who offered an insight into Chopard’s involvement in this cinematic celebration of all things Elton!

Together, Chopard and cinema are engaged in a perpetually renewed love story. As the world’s red carpet jeweller, Chopard enjoys adorning actresses and actors with its creations, whether for movie premieres or during the shooting process.

The screen adaptation of this extraordinary and emotional trajectory was bound to enthuse Elton John’s personal friend Caroline Scheufele. In the scenario, which subtly portrays the singer’s development of his own personal style during his early career, the artist– played by British actor Taron Egerton – appears in many scenes wearing Chopard creations, such as those belonging to its Happy Hearts, Happy Diamonds and Happy Spirit jewellery collections, Happy Sport watches as well as opulent models from the Animal World Haute Joaillerie range.

Speaking of the event, ROX Managing Director Kyron Keogh said: “It is an honour for ROX to shine a light on the magnificent diamond jewellery and timepieces Chopard created for Rocketman.  They signify the change in Elton John’s life perfectly and represent everything we love about this iconic rock star who defined a generation with his flamboyant style.”

“It was great to welcome back the immensely talented Georgia Cécile to our Glasgow boutique and listen to her take on a couple of our favourite Elton classics.  A big thank you to Chopard, Rusk & Rusk, Moet & Chandon and Belvedere for serving up a truly memorable evening.”
